Trappistine Monastery in Landan, Polomolok is a very amazing scene in Mindanao. Trappistine Monastery was first established around 1990's here in Mindanao. Trappists is a Roman Catholic religious order of contemplative monks who follow the Rule of St. Benedict. The Trappists are a branch of the Cistercians. Like the other Cistercian orders, they have a women's branch, commonly referred to as the Trappistines. The Trappist monks the Tre Fontane ( Three Fountains) Abbey raise the lambs whose wool is used to make the pallia of new metropolitan archbishops. The Pope presents the pallia to them on the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, the Holy Apostles; they are blessed by the Pope on the Feast of Saint Agnes, January 21.

Monk comes from a Greek word monachos , means 'single, solitaryis'. It is the person who practices religious asceticism, living either alone or with any number of monks, whilst always maintaining some degree of physical separation from those not sharing the same purpose. The concept is ancient and can be seen in many religions and in philosophy. Don't monks felt bored in staying there? Based on our interview, they were not bored in staying there. Why? Because if you truly love God even if the whole world are gone you would feel happy. How nice it is. How beautiful the monastery is. So why did we feature this place?

We feature this place not just because we want to hang out with each other but we go there so that we can see the beauty of the place and we can feature the natural beauty of our environment. This solemn place is an expression of peace, faith and beauty. Also, it is an experience like being in Baguio here in Mindanao.
